Here we come Yuma

In July Stephen was offered a full time Biology teaching position at Yuma Union High School in Yuma Arizona. One week later our house was rented out and Stephen was already in Arizona. It was a quick move but thanks to all the family members who helped us make it happen. I don't have any pictures of us moving to Yuma but these are just a few of the pictures of the first month that we were here.

Stephen had to get new glasses and in order for him to do that he needed a new eye exam. He got the black slip on glasses from the eye doctors. Everyone in the house got to try them on. Here are the boys with daddy's fake glasses.

Caleb

Elliott with the biggest grin. If you notice he is eating dinner and brushing his teeth at the exact same time.

As soon as the orange light for the flash would come up he starts to close his eyes and we get a lot of pictures like this. He is just too cute for words.

Stephen and Elliott were cleaning the house and Elliott found the ipod and headphones and was trying to put them on. He couldn't quite put them on so daddy helped him. Of course he was listening to ACDC...his favorite band from the time he was in my belly.

Spaghetti face. I gave up on cleaning this kid while he was eating a long time ago. No way I was going to be able to keep him or the chair clean. Besides it makes for cute pictures.

Enjoying tummy time. One of the many smiles that Caleb likes to give out.

Elliott just being himself.

HERE COMES CALEB

June 4, 2012 Caleb Lee Hylton was born at 9:16pm. Weighing in at 7lbs 11oz and 21". Dark brown hair and a quite demeanor. He has made the best addition to our little family. Thank you to the Doctor for getting to the hospital just in time to see him into this beautiful world.

Waiting patiently for the drugs to kick in.

He came so quickly that he wasn't breathing all that well on his own but they wanted me to have a quick minute with him to say "hello".

First, family photo. Elliott was not interested in being in the picture at that moment. He just wanted to get down and run or get in his brother's face.

Elliott and grandpa. This kid couldn't get enough of him.

First moments of new exhaustion and yes, we are always still that tired.

I can just imagine this is what Elliott is saying to Caleb: "Hi, brother. I'm Elliott, I"m going to be the best big brother you've ever had. I'm going to love you, hug you and sometimes make you cry but at the end of the day we're still brothers."
Well at least that is what I would like to think he was saying because he was probably thinking "How can I play with this new toy without anyone noticing it's gone?"

That's right folks I have found my tongue and I know how to use it. I give very wet kisses so here I come.

Caleb was our little glow worm for awhile. He was on bilirubin lights and a blanket until his levels came back up. He was just too cute not to take a picture.

It always amazes me how little babies can sleep what seem to be the most uncomfortable positions but I guess to them it's better than being in a belly.

Playing in Grandma's tree house. Thanks grandma for the best tree house ever.

Going on a picnic and nature walk with the family. It was awesome to see how excited Elliott got just seeing all kinds of new things.

These boys are two peas in a pod. They are really best buds.

Just a couple of pictures of my little men.

More hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Yes, that is our son playing with lighters. We were close don't worry. He just seems to find everything even if you hide it really well.

Grandma enjoying little Caleb.

Elliott's first time at the Aquarium. He really enjoyed all the fishes. He couldn't figure out why he couldn't touch them. It was sure cute though to see him try.

Elliott's FIRST Birthday

Since, Elliott's birthday was in the middle of the week and grandparents were leaving for the weekend we decided that we would have a small birthday cupcake party for Elliott on his birthday and a few weeks later have a party with his friends.

Here is Elliott on skype with Nanny and Papaw. Grandma and Grandpa came over and we got to see him eat his cupcake. He wasn't too sure what to do with it. We had to put a little of the icing in his mouth for him to realize that he could eat the cupcake. He made a mess everywhere, but the dogs were helpful in cleaning up.

Opening presents. Lots of blocks

Party with friends. As you can see he did not like to get his hands in the cake but later enjoyed the cake. Don't worry I made two cakes.

Elliott going swimming with Nanny Alice and daddy. It took him a long time to get used to the idea of being in the water but once he realized that he wasn't going home and not getting out the pool he started to warm up to the idea.

The last time I got to go swimming with Elliott before I had Caleb. It really took the pressure off the belly.

April

Stephen's Graduation what a glorious day!

Elliott's first Easter. He really enjoyed his easter eggs.

Elliott playing with Better at the doggy door.

More pictures of Stephen's graduation. What a cute boys I have.

We did not pose them, they decided to do this all on their own. They are too special.

March 2012

He wanted to help me clean out the ottoman for his toys.

This boy really loves his daddy. He will let Stephen hold him all day and cuddle.

Enjoying time out in the clean backyard that daddy fixed up for him. He looks so cute in his hat that Nanny and Papaw got him in Moab last summer. Mom loves it because he can't pull it off his head.

I just couldn't help but take this cute picture of him holding his bottle and sleeping so soundly. Every night I ask Stephen if we can take him out of his bed and cuddle with him...this is the response that I get "NO!" He says that Elliott won't get any sleep and neither would we. I guess he is right...but just this one time.

Just want to let everyone know that we did put him in his car seat right after this, but it was pretty cute having him act like he was going to drive. Dad will have to teach the boys how to drive. I don't have the nerves for it.

One minute he was in his walker and the next minute we find him in the laundry basket playing in the dirty clothes and watching the washing machine go. He figured out that if he positioned his walker just right in between the doors he could maneuver himself right out of his walker. Again, this boy is very smart and sneaky. You have to keep a watchful eye on him the whole time.

All he wanted to do was crawl on top of the ottoman, but instead he just banged his head against it. He was really tired and just acting so silly. We put him to bed shortly after this picture was taken.
Yes, he can figure out how to move the boxes close to things and pull himself up onto it.

I came home and couldn't figure out why Elliott wasn't meeting me at the door. Elliott was so tired that he fell asleep on the floor. Stephen didn't have the heart to wake him up and put him in his bed. Elliott is just like Stephen though...he can fall asleep anywhere.

Shortly after this picture was taken we had to invest in the cabinet locks. He also knew how to open the cabinet where the trash was kept and would open it all the time.
They are the most annoying things in the world. Stephen and I would both laugh at each other when there were some frustrations coming from the kitchen but it wasn't so funny when it was happening to you. Elliott has become really upset that he can't open any of the cabinets or drawers now.

Just playing outside at grandma's house. He hates being on the grass. I know I have a sissy boy but he is learning to love the grass. It's just a texture thing that I hope he learns to grow out of.
